How To Make: Vegan Cheese Sauce

Vegan Cheese Without the Dairy Carrots Potatoes

I definitely did NOT create this vegan cheese recipe on my own, but it is based on the recipes of many other people whom I have seen make this. I was shocked when I heard about it, but even more so when I made it myself. This stuff actually tastes like cheese! Not like nacho cheese, mind you, but definitely like cheese.

This cheese would do OK as a chip dip, but it would taste fantastic as a Mac and Cheese addition and is really cheap to make and actually healthy! Here is how I made it!


  • 2 cups cooked Potatoes
  • 1 Cup cooked Carrots
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • Nutritional Yeast (I used about a 4th of a cup)
  • A fair amount of salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Oregano
  • 3 tablespoons Canola Oil (To give it that “Fatty” texture.)

This is the easiest thing yet, just add them all into a blender or food processor, and go at it! I added too much Nutritional Yeast when I first made it, but others love the taste of it, I am not a huge fan.

It actually tastes like cheese and is really healthy. I was shocked! this vegan cheese is extremely inexpensive as well, with a huge batch of this costing me about 2 dollars to make. Great for casseroles, or even scalloped Potatoes. Now I know what I am going to try to make next 😉
